Melange: *noun* \mā-ˈläⁿzh\: a mixture, a medley, an assortment of different things.
The brainchild of lawyer turned filmmaker Martine Jean, Melange Media has produced multiple projects in a very short time. Most notable is “The Silent Treatment”, a short, 1920s inspired, award winning short film starring Emayatzy Corinealdi (“Middle of Nowhere”) and Malik Whitfield (“The Temptations”) and "Purgatorio" starring newcomers Krystel Roche and Francisco Solana, a film focusing on the birthright crisis erupting between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Currently, Melange has a short film starring Numa Perrier in post-production, a feature film and a docu-series in development.
Every year, Melange works with an official delegation of filmmakers from South Africa. We set up and manage the delegation's offices at AFM, facilitate meetings and organize networking events and parties. We work closely with the South African Department of Trade and Industry and with the Consul General to provide the filmmakers with the tools to make their AMF experience successful.
